MitochondriaSci has established a set of fluorescence imaging tools for labeling mitochondria in living cells. An exclusive dye used in the experiment selectively accumulates in mitochondria with different membrane potential, the mitochondrial indicator is a hydrophobic complex that can easily infiltrate into living cells and is locked in the mitochondria when it enters the cell. This fluorescent mitochondrial indicator can be retained in mitochondria for a long time because the indicator has a group located in the cell, so its staining efficiency of mitochondria is significantly improved.
