Vans‘ flame designs have always enjoyed a great deal of popularity due to their whimsical nature and head-turning style, and now the California-based brand has added a fiery new “Flame Wall” touch to three of their most iconic sneakers: the Vans Old Skool Cheap, the Authentic, and the Vans Old Skool Womens. All three silhouettes offer a blacked-out upper that shifts focus to the red, orange, and yellow detailing that adorns the otherwise-black midsole. Red/black heel branding and a classic Vans gum outsole finishes off the shoe’s look.
The Vans Old Skool Mens and Sk8-Hi are built with leather and suede panels, the iconic checkerboard pattern on the medial side, and the distinct red Vans stripe to reflect the retailer’s chief color. Further notes of homage are seen on the lace-tips, which feature “Bascom”, and 25th Anniversary insoles.
World renowned sneaker shop and collaborator Patta joins up with Japanese-based shop BEAMS and Vans for a special three-way collab on the Vans Old Skool Discount this fall. Taking inspiration from an old Johnny Cash song, the “Mean Eyed Cat” Old Skool features a premium build in all-black suede and canvas with large Patta logos behind the signature jazz stripes and “Team Patta” text printed on the laces. Adding to the bold branding is “Mean Eyed Cat” text on each midsole.
