Fusion protein has two different meanings, one is the expression product after the recombination of two genes obtained by DNA recombination technology, and the other is a group of proteins that mediate the fusion of the two plasma membranes, as one of the two glycoproteins contained in the outer leaflet of the viral lipid bilayer mediates the fusion of the viral envelope with the host cell plasma membrane.
