How to understand all the precautions of the laser pointer?

The NOHD of any laser with a class higher than Class 1 will be greater than 100 mm, but the laser standard stipulates that NOHD is usually calculated based on an exposure time of 100 seconds, and for the exposure time of a visible laser pointer, this exposure time will be deliberately required effort. The exposure time may be short, and the eyeballs will move instead of staying still. To show the possibility of accidental injury, we calculated the MPE for 0.1 second exposure, and then used this limit to calculate "0.1 second NOHD". In other words, exposure to the direct beam of the laser for a distance of only 0.1 s may cause retinal eye damage.

The 0.1 s NOHD exposure shows that the risk of accidental exposure by the Class 2 laser through the NOHD showing 0 m is quite low. If there is danger for other reasons, there are other ways to buy a high power laser pointer. In the case of pilot or driver contact, there is a risk of "dazzling" due to temporary and possibly temporary loss of vision. Similar hazards may apply to any workers performing critical tasks, who will temporarily lose their eyesight or even lose their attention, which may endanger safety. In these cases, the most appropriate standard ANSI Z136.6 will be the American standard, because it does not yet have a British or international equivalent.

Follow the rules for safe use of laser pointers

When using the laser pointer, you must pay attention to the following issues. First, you must strictly abide by the safety operation rules. For example, when working with a laser pointer in hand, the staff must never direct the Green laser pointer into the eyes of a person. Secondly, if necessary, laser protective glasses should be equipped. Protective glasses can block most of the laser beam. According to different protection principles, protective glasses can be divided into reflection type, absorption type, reflection absorption type, explosive type, photochemical reaction type and discolored glass-ceramic type. Again, regular health checks are required. Workers who have been exposed to laser pointers for a long time should check the fundus regularly and do a good job of protection in time.
