The new system ensured that perimeter defense was much more effective. It became more difficult to block perimeter shots. It was simpler to balance offense and defense. But the new shot contest system, which was introduced in the new year, killed layups. The proximity requirement prevented layups that are among the most effective looks in basketball. This is an easy issue to solve. 2K Sports could modify the finishing badges to increase the odds of getting layups.
AI Teammates - The AI MyCareer teammates are currently in a poor state. The AI doesn't seem to have any basketball sense. I can't count the number of times I've tried to pass to Cedi Osman, a corner shooter, in hopes of scoring an easy basket. The easy bucket doesn't come through. The AI will keep the ball in possession for at most three minutes. This allows the defense to advance.
