One of the most difficult aspects of designing the layout of a playground is finding ways to attract children of all age groups. Because play must be age and developmentally suitable, is it feasible for a single place to meet the needs of every child? Is there playground equipment for outdoor play that can draw older children? Preschool-age and infant youngsters and school-age kids require different characteristics in their play and bring different physical as well as social, cognitive, and abilities on the playground. Despite the numerous different needs and differences of the different groups of children, a playground is a place that has facilities and entertainment for each child to have fun.

The most effective way to create an area that can meet the requirements of all children is to have a variety of play structures. Children who are younger are more prone to getting knocked down accidentally by older children The structures will meet the requirements of the different age groups. As children grow older, they are able to move to different structures and play in the same play area throughout the entire period of adolescence.

There are a variety of skills among youngsters in school as they rapidly acquire and develop their abilities. The play in this age group is becoming more complicated, and kids are always seeking greater physical tasks. The 12-year-olds typically double bigger than younger children in this age group and possess nearly eight times as much grip strength.

Children in this age group do not have the social skills developed, and so the social interaction of this stage typically includes playing sports and competing against peers. High energy levels and pressure from peers levels can cause conflict and aggression.
