The paddy separator machine is built for continuous treatment of seeds, mainly for cereals at higher capacities. The precise dosing systems for both grain and treating agents, combined with the distinguished primary and secondary mixing chamber result in excellent treating results. Capacity up to 50 t/h.
Paddy separator was found best to operate with clearance half the thickness of paddy at which it gives better shelling efficiency as well as output capacity. In case of paddy separator, thin sheet of mixture of paddy and brown rice should be formed on deck so that it will help to separate out brown rice from mixture. In case of polishing two numbers of passes should be done to achieve less broken rice by operating it at lower degree of polishing. Grader gives less effectiveness because of clogging of sieves due to accumulation of bran on it is common practice in the mill.
The machine will effectively remove outer husks and crease dirt by its intense scouring action and will reduce in size and therefore remove through the sieve apertures any mudballs, small friable seed impurities and any insect fragments. Similarly the impactor/scourer will break the weaker, insect damaged kernels and effectively eliminate them.
destoner machine effectively removed all chaffs and other light impurities from both milled and paddy rice. The machine also performed satisfactorily in removing nearly all the stones in the rice samples. From the performance evaluation of the machine it was observed that 874 kg/h of milled rice and paddy rice could be processed. Although this work did not cover the effects of sieve size, sieve agitation on machine capacity, one could suggest that the capacity of this device could be increased with the use of proper sieve size, sieve agitation and air direction. Tray loss was 2.99% for paddy rice and 17.81% for milled rice. The average separation efficiencies of the machine for paddy and milled rice were 97% and 82%, respectively.
