NBA 2K20 is the worst game in the series since NBA 2K8. It had very little originality in the game's gameplay. It seemed like the creators had taken NBA 2K19, slapped a layer of 2K22 MT paint over the game and made it available as NBA 2K20. The only thing that was changed within the game was the amount of ads placed over MyCareer and the Park. NBA 2K is an excellent game. The problems that require being addressed are not major. The game will benefit from all suggestions. 2K is a solid foundation however, it could benefit from some refinement.
Player Likenesses - Classic teams have been a part 2K since. There have been some issues with classic teams over the years, however there's a major problem with licensing of player likenesses. When a player retires NBA 2K needs to pay an amount every year to utilize their image in the game. Some players are not willing to allow their image to be used for the purpose of playing. In the majority of these cases, 2K has not come to financial agreements that are satisfactory with the player who is in question. This is why classic teams typically don't have the pieces needed to make them special.
The Seven Seconds and Fewer Suns are perfect examples of incompatibility. Joe Johnson is not on the team playing in the game. Johnson averaged 17.1 points per game for the Suns and was a key scoring option for Phoenix. The omission of Johnson makes it pointless to select the Suns, especially in competitive online games. Charles Barkley's efforts were not enough to propel the Phoenix Suns to the 1993 NBA Finals. This team was great and included Charles Barkley at the peak of his career. The 1993 Suns are not even in the game as 2K doesn't wish to Buy NBA 2K22 MT match Barkley's price.
