The building is a British style architecture and it is at a walking distance from some of the most iconic landmarks of Singapore. The museum houses magnificent exhibitions and some of the finest collections ever from history. It is a depiction of how culturally rich Singapore has always been. It is the only museum that is believed to have the highest number if accolades. The museum here depicts the rich history of Asian and Chinese people. It gives you great insights about how people from different ethnicities have always stayed together in harmony. It was built in the year 1977 with its artefacts being brought from Raffle’s library. Recently, artefacts from Peranakan culture have also been kept here. The museum is spread across 14,000 square meters of land and is home to more than 1500 artefacts. These artefacts are spread across 12 galleries. The museum is divided into 3 different sections – Vernacular Buddhism, Tribal history and Pre-history.

Apart from these 3 sections, it has 2 separate sections of Malay world & Javanese history. South Asian objects have been kept in the 7th and the 8th galleries. If you see carefully, each and every themed gallery will have special guide posts. These guide posts contain interactive videos and audio clips that throw light on the significance of the architect in front of you. Located on the Northern shore of Singapore in the civic district, it is easily reachable from all the signature landmarks of Singapore. It is owned, operated and maintained by the Asian civilizations group. When you visit here, make sure to check out the imperial porcelain dragon robe and Buddhist statues from the 7th century.

Restaurant Andre

It is considered to be a restaurant with one of the best dining experiences in the whole of Singapore. The restaurant is named after the famous Taiwanese celebrity chef Andre. The restaurant serves its patrons with some signature dishes of Andre. All of his dishes contains a set of 8 elements during the preparation of his dishes. He refers to these 8 elements as Octa Philosophy. He prepares these dishes without any kind of seasoning. The restaurant has also won rank No 6 in the Best 50 Restaurants of Asia 2104. The restaurant caters to only 40 diners at a given point of time. Although it is located at the bustling street of Chinatown, it is at a walking distance from the nearest MRT. The 8 special elements that he uses in all of the dishes he prepares, have been given discreet names. He refers to them as texture, memory, and south, terroir, salt, pure & unique. You can get onto bus no 44 & 35 that will drop you off directly at restaurant Andre.
