Anyone who buys a wig may want to know where its hair comes from. Wigs with synthetic hair can solve this problem relatively quickly, but wigs with real hair can be a little difficult.

Where Does Wig Hair Come From?

The hair of synthetic wig is not real hair, but artificial synthetic fiber. Fibers are usually produced by manufacturers of synthetic wigs and sometimes purchased from abroad. Therefore, you should be very careful to choose, especially synthetic fiber wig, because good synthetic fiber will make the whole wig appear high quality, and give the wearer a good natural feeling.

But you should also pay attention to it, because there are big differences. There are hair substitutes made from synthetic hair, where synthetic fibers are simply sewn on a scaffold - these wigs are considered very unnatural and can be immediately identified in most cases. However, high quality processing can also be found, especially when high price and high price fibers are used. Most synthetic fibers, which look very similar to natural hair, are hand tied to the hat like real hair - which in turn makes the whole wig look very natural.

Where does the hair for human wig come from?

Most of the hair used to make wigs or real hair extensions comes from Asia, and a large part of it comes from India. In India, hair donation has a long tradition: if a young woman marries, her hair is tied up in thick braids and cut off. The cut hair will be donated to the temple for sale. This is how the bride helps her temple make money.

A small part of the hair comes from China. However, this kind of hair is rarely used in the European market because Chinese women's hair is much thicker than European hair. Therefore, when making wigs, Chinese hair is usually mixed with other hair and only small strands are used.

Hair from Europe is rarely found in human wigs. The reason for this is not the quality or texture, but the previous treatment of the hair. To make a wig, you need so-called "virgin hair", which means that the hair must not be dyed or chemically treated in any other way before. Nowadays, however, you can hardly find European women's hair that is not dyed, dyed or permed. For this reason, European hair is extremely rare in human wigs and therefore very expensive.

Some time ago, an innovation in the market attracted people's attention: now wigs are made of equal parts of synthetic fiber and real hair. Because of the high quality of synthetic hair in this hair substitute, you can't see or feel any difference from real hair. However, wigs using human hair and synthetic hair should be maintained very carefully, but their great advantage is that they are a little cheaper than wigs made from 100% human hair.
