If you're experiencing a black screen issue in Firefox, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve it:

Clear Browser Cache: Clearing the browser cache can often resolve display issues. In Firefox, click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner, go to "Library," then select "History" and click on "Clear Recent History." Choose the desired time range and make sure to select "Cache" before clicking "Clear Now."

Disable Hardware Acceleration: Hardware acceleration uses your computer's hardware to render graphics, and sometimes it can cause display issues. To disable it, go to the menu button in the top-right corner, select "Options," then go to the "General" tab. Scroll down to the "Performance" section and uncheck the box next to "Use recommended performance settings." Finally, uncheck the box next to "Use hardware acceleration when available."

Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can lead to display problems. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Disable Firefox Extensions: Some Firefox extensions or add-ons may conflict with the browser and cause display issues. To troubleshoot, open Firefox in Safe Mode by clicking the menu button, selecting "Help," then "Restart with Add-ons Disabled." If the black screen problem doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it indicates that an extension is likely causing the issue. You can then disable extensions one by one to identify the problematic one.

Reset Firefox Settings: Resetting Firefox to its default settings can help resolve various issues. To do this, click the menu button, select "Help," then "Troubleshooting Information." In the Troubleshooting Information tab, click on the "Refresh Firefox" button. Follow the prompts to reset Firefox.
