The furniture assortment in Animal Crossing Bells this game is really, really lame, and a few of the changes to how particular stores are managed is bothersome at times. Why is it that Leif and Kicks only ever visit? Why not fold them in to Nook's Cranny along with the Able Sisters respectively? Why does the Museum just have description plaques for artwork today? What's up with the public works items that didn't get turned into furniture? No Gyroids to accumulate? It is only a lot of small things that really add up into big things.
And it's especially true for a series that is iterative for the most part. Good features from previous games are nearly always brought to later games. The main exceptions are gimmicks based on the console or small features that are neat but finally not game changing. NH ditched a great deal of series staples which really hurts in the event that you've been a long time fan. I think a lot of the NH fans have not played the previous games so that they do not have these features to overlook. That good for them but it feels hollow .
Yeah, this is kind of how I've been looking at it lately. Much like, yes it introduced a few really great new thoughts from the way of outside decorating (which very much feels like the natural next step for the series) and the landscaping tools. The crafting system is a fairly nifty way to give players kind of mini-goals. Not perfect but it's a fantastic idea.
However, the pile of missing features and content is actually frustrating. I understand nobody wants to compare this to Pokemon (because Sword/Shield have a good deal of different problems past missing Pokemon and will cut features more frequently ) but Animal Crossing is a series that has historically had almost all of it's items/collectibles and features carried forward in some capacity. Even little things like obtaining a reward for conserving X quantity of buy Animal Crossing Items money in the bank are directly up dropped.
