Transmission towers or power towers (or power towers or variations) are tall structures, usually steel lattice towers, used to support overhead power lines.
They are used in high-voltage AC and DC systems and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. A typical height range is 15 to 55 m (49 to 180 ft), [1] although the highest is a 370 m (1,214 ft) tower with a span of 2700 m (8,858 ft) spanning the Zhoushan Island overhead power line ties. In addition to steel, other materials can be used, including concrete and wood.
