I had been introduced to RuneScape with a very bad picture

Though the level of RuneScape gold national technology found in Gielinor seems predominately to be about the 15th or 16th centuries (already a span admittedly later than that of many dream RPGs), together with cannon-topped castles and Renaissance garb, lots of striking anachronisms are immediately apparent. For instance, many houses and buildings have been equipped with sinks that provide flowing water - an improvement that, in the actual world, did not come until centuries after the presumed time period!

Other examples can easily be identified - among the prime offenders in this area is the sort of silly modernity of machines like those from the Elemental Workshop (these, of course, are powered by magical, but their styles are totally incoherent with the rest of the planet ). Less concrete but still tangible - and even though not quite anachronistic, per se - are the significant number of real world names found in Gielinor, even if there are not any reasons to do so. If Gielinorian people did come from Earth, a theory that I dislike myself but that seems plausible, there could have lived vestiges of"early" titles, but they would probably be greatly changed and not in ordinary usage.

Personally, I like to believe that the titles introduced to people are anglicized as per The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (see The Lord of the Rings, Appendix 6); for instance, in the prior book, the ancient Numenorean title Kalimac was turned into Meriadoc, a title with the same feel to English-speaking ears, and its nickname"Kali" to"Merry". Thus, characters in Gielinor are given common real-world names in order to seem familiar, rather than the common Gielinorian names they have.

Oh, by the way: while I personally dislike anachronism and prefer a more Dark Ages-esque setting, and equally dislike the usage of real world names in fantasy worlds, this is not a rant about those things but instead an attempt at a discussion about them.

It kinda related to me a good deal so that it kinda hit me hard. After studying, Im still not likely to stop Runescape or something but yeah I have to remember to restrict myself. Wow... This guy says that he performs average 10 hours a day. Thats a lot even for me. Im not certain if hes exaggerating on some of this stuff or not... (Can some1 actually play that long for an extended weeks on end?) I never had a day without runescape for 3 years, I performed from 5 to 18 hours every day.

It occurred to me after my freshman year... I was 15, I was a happy boy through my freshman year, played football basketball and tennis... Until I was introduced into the game with an extremely bad picture, called Runescape, at first I didnt really care for the match and just played to pass the time. As time went on, I found myself playing even more and more everyday. My Sophomore and Junior year, my life was like that. 1. Wake up and buy RS gold go to school. 2.Individuals are having trouble getting RuneScape experience
