Bright LED headlights are blinding motorists

Have you noticed an increase in the number of vehicles on the roads with painfully bright, white or blue/white headlights that hurt your eyes and force you to take your eyes off of the road, or that destroy your night vision before and after meeting them?To get more news about led headlights, you can visit iengniek official website.

These are LED (light emitting diode) headlights. The LED has existed in one form or another for over a century, but the technology that makes them applicable as a headlight is relatively new.

Although SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) tests have shown halogen lamps produce a better light for seeing road hazards, vehicle manufacturers are increasingly using LEDs as a styling selling point. Their numbers are increasing, and LEDs are projected to be the predominant type of headlight on our roads in just a few years. With the increased use of LED headlights has come an outcry from the public, because they are so bright that they create dangerous conditions for the drivers that meet them.

There seems to be absolutely no regulations in regard to how bright LED headlights can be. In fact it seems as if auto manufacturers are competing to see who can sell the vehicle with the most dangerous, blinding headlights.

Because of this, there are petitions on the internet to ban them, with comment sections full of complaints from people who are angry about not being able to drive at night anymore, or who have had accidents or close calls because they were blinded by LEDs.Many YouTube channels selling or endorsing LED headlights have more people in the comments section complaining about them than there are people interested in them. And an internet search of “Blinding LED Headlights” brings up a plethora of newspaper and TV news reports criticizing them.

Yet what most people do not realize is that blinding LED headlights are exactly that: BLINDING. Many major medical studies have been done on the effects of the type of light emitted by LED headlights, including studies published in 2011, 2015, 2016, two in 2017 and 2018. And all of these studies have come to the same conclusion: That the high-intensity, short wavelength light of LED headlights causes cataracts, retinal damage, and macular degeneration.

And the AMA (American Medical Association) has acknowledged this with its own criticism of LED headlights.

The evidence is conclusive; every time your eyes are exposed to LED headlights, they are being damaged permanently.Yet regardless of these studies and the position of the AMA, and despite the media attention and a national barrage of complaints to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Department of Transportation, LED headlights remain legal.

Despite the fact that millions of motorists are at increased risk for accidents because they are constantly being blinded by LED headlights, they are still being manufactured.

Why? Here we have a national medical catastrophe unfolding with the end result being millions of Americans potentially having their eyesight destroyed, and also increasingly dangerous driving conditions for motorists, and our government is doing nothing to stop it.
