So it will not throw you in with 20 abilities and an introduction to boss mechanics all at once. Sure you might argue revolution is on by default, but that doesn't teach them the skills or how it works together. When I was informed I had a toolbelt, that would be great. If I needed to get the tools for that, that would be great. Like the network. However, the graduality of things being unlocked needs to be adjusted. I don't currently have an answer, maybe after I depart the new player experience I will.

Your points are fairly solid, idk if I'd begin players on heritage per se, but personally I feel heritage as a whole needs to be removed, it merely adds yet another layer of confusion to RuneScape, and was just introduced to ease the pain of abilities, before revolution was something. It doesnt serve much purpose but again that's just me. I am eagar to see how your opinion and understanding changes as RuneScape progresses, but youre certainly right on one point. RuneScape's intro needs work.
There is a tutorial island, and it will teach you about the toolbelt, and also how to use it. The issue is, you don't go to tutorial island if you don't choose"returning participant" when making a new account. It should be the default option no matter what, quickly getting players through the basics, then burthorpe behaving as a tutorial+ for those who want it, since it does cover a good deal like Slayer, crafting, fletching, etc.Only addition I will place here's please don't advocate the elimination of legacy. We are aware that it is not the hottest but there's a dedicated group of players that just use heritage (see the legacy only worlds). While a small group of gamers I would estimate in a 24 hour period around 500-900 players within that group. If Jagex eliminated it there would be a lot of unhappy players from this group.
What we can take away from this is that Jagex literally needs to replace both tutorial island and also burthrope tutorial with a genuine tutorial/controlled game environment that's far better than both. Rehashing burthrope tutorial is something we have seen Jagex do on occasion but they have to realize low level gameplay in general is an untended mess. Tossing a entirely new player out into a sandbox and hoping that they don't run into material that is too old or questionably imbalanced is by modern game criteria, a very mediocre thing to do. I do not say this since individuals should vigorously defend that this is how RuneScape is, however because individuals who come from another match, normally another mmo, will have higher standards for the way their initial 10 hours of game plays out.

A reworked and instanced forest someplace in lumbridge can get the job done as well. Establishing a proper sandbox environment for new gamers to coast in with controlled factors is something RuneScape needs, being that this is a game with 20 years of OSRS buy gold content.
