The nervous system is responsible for  Joint N-11 Review  everything a body do, breathing, listening, sensing, thinking and everything a person does. Nerves carry sensations from sense organs to the brain or spinal cord and responses from brain or spinal cord to sense organs. For example, when we touch a hot body we suddenly remove the hand, nervous system is responsible for such actions. Skin is a sense organ here which feels hot sensation, nervous system carries hot sensations to the spinal cord, it sends an auto response as to the hand to remove. In the nervous system, brain, spinal cord and nerves are the important agents. The spinal cord is responsible for auto reflex actions, brain is for non-reflex action and nerves are the carriers. Spinal cord even works while the brain is in sleep.

Nerve deformities and lesions are the reasons for neuropathy pains. Damage or malfunction of peripheral nerves also causes neuropathy pains. It also affects Somatosensory system ( consists of receptors and processing centers, responsible for generating sensory modalities). Nerve fibers get damaged themselves or injured due to external activities. When damaged, nerves cannot carry correct signals and responses, shows impact on and around the affected area. There are no particular causes for it, alcoholism, diabetes, age, shocks of electricity, spine surgery, and limb problems are the some common reason included.

Different nerve pain types have different symptoms. According to the 2012 neurological disorders survey, there are above 100 types. Shooting, burning pain, tingling and numbness are the most common symptoms observed. This is clearly explained with an example, phantom limb syndrome. This is a rare neurological pain, the nerves don't stop carrying pain signals to the brain instead of carrying limb missing impulses. Each type has its own symptom variability from the rest.
