Launched in an f2p war was RuneScape gold utterly pointless. There are some people who would stand by a few rangers but it's certainly not a strategy I'd implement. The Runescape community will attend the war on lvl 3 balances to witness the success and to occasionally record and or report on the war for those forums.
There are also little groups of lvl 50s who were essentially other clans that heard about the war group with each other to pick up all the leftover rune. I would do the same in other clan wars, so it was fun. You'd get 15 or so lvl 50 accounts at a war zone fighting for all the leftover loot, and none of the lvl 100 can strike you in lvl 45 wilderness. Hilarious tbh.
P2p Wars were great but always small in number, in fact nobody battled p2p wars that they were a rarity, and hella expensive. P2p was mainly for pk excursions and hanging out round mage lender for 1v1. Mage bank pking was where you would find the very best of the best, who'd pk in ahrims and party hats. Usually with 40 additional 126s prepared to snare your stupid arse for believing that a guy goes pking solo at a party hat.
There were also mini wars, these could be planned but sometimes they'd be spontaneous. If you were on a pk trip and you bumped heads with a rival Clan, then there could be an ensuing battle that could last some time. As soon as you realise it was an opposing clan you have struck, when you died you'd gear up and come back to cheap OSRS gold the fight immediately as a matter of pride. The war would go on until onbe sides members determined they had dropped enough, and the Victor would have a LOT of spoils.
